RTA Free & Reduced Fare Rates

Changes!
RTA Free & Reduced Fare Passes
Senior free and reduced fare passes can be used on RTA fixed route bus and rail services of the CTA, Pace, and Metra. As of September 1, 2011 the RTA will only accept newly issued magnetic strip cards. Circuit Ride Free Permits are for those 65+ who are enrolled in the Illinois Department on Aging's Circuit Breaker Program. The annual income limit
is $27,610 for a single and $36,635 for a couple. All others applicants 65+ will be issued a Reduced Fare Permit, which will cut the cost by about half. The RTA mailed new cards to all seniors currently enrolled in the Seniors Circuit Ride Free program in early August. If you did not receive yours, contact the RTA at 312-913-3110. Depending on
eligibility, seniors received either a Circuit Ride Free or a Reduced Fare Permit. If you haven't had a card before or are newly eligible, you can print the pplication at  ww.rtachicago.org or pick one up from the PTC Social Service office. The completed
application must be mailed to the RTA accompanied by a photocopy of your valid Illinois ID and 1 ½ inch square color photo of your cute face. Happy travels!

ACES: Adult Caregiver Education & Support

Feeling stressed? Juggling many obligations? Seeking resources to help your loved one? Do you feel sad or mad, or both? Whether the person you are concerned about is living with you or out of town, we can help. Studies show that caregivers reduce their stress, enjoy improved health, and provide better care when receiving caregiver support.
ACES is a group of spouses and adult children of older adults who gather for valuable information on relevant topics, leads on resources, and to share concerns and tips with other caregivers. Facilitated by Julie Learner  roup. Faith In Action will provide a trained respite volunteer to stay with your loved one, if needed, while you attend the meetings and there will never be a charge. C'mon and join us! For info call Margie Fischer, PTC Social Services, 847-940-4010.

Blue Bag Program

The Blue Bag Program is a collaborative effort between the PTC and the Deerfield-Bannocburn Fire Department's paramedics to ensure that an individual's wishes will be honored at a time of medical emergency. The bag with copies (not originals) of a list of current medications, advance directives, emergency contacts, identifcation and insurance cards is placed in your home refrigerator where medical and emergency personnel know where to find it. This information will be sent with you to the hospital via the ambulance staff. This is an optional program and you may elect to complete all the suggested documents or only a few that you feel will be necessary. Please contact Melissa Versch@ 847-572-2655 for more information.
